The Toyota Previa, also known as the Toyota Estima (エスティマ) in Japan and the Toyota Tarago in Australia, is an MPV or multi-purpose vehicle (known as a minivan in North America) produced by Toyota Motor Corporation since 1990. The name “Previa” comes from the Italian for “preview,” as Toyota saw the first Previa as a vehicle that would preview technologies used in future minivans.
Toyota’s fresh approach to the Previa is most evident behind the smart exterior. An exciting blend of sharp lines and flowing curves, its sleek futuristic monoform body is the ultimate display of Toyota design and technology. The 3.5-litre V6 with six-speed automatic, new for 2007, improves straight-line power. Standard features include seating for either seven or eight, a radio cassette player, power windows, cloth seats, keyless entry and central locking, along with ABS and two airbags. Optional features include HID headlamps with adaptive light system and auto leveling, front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, CD player with 6 speakers, cruise control and automatic rear doors.
Entry to the rear of the cabin is simplicity itself thanks to two large sliding doors. Seating options vary from seven to eight seats, with combinations of four individual rear chairs, a three seat middle row, or two sets of benches. As an eight seater, the Previa is comfortable for adults and the seats also lift out to carry bigger loads or just create more legroom – they can even be folded to make a large bed!
